It Hugs Back: Tigertrap feature on Radio 1 tonight
posted 11 Apr 2007

Tonight is a rather special occasion for Tigertrap, as we'll be featuring on Huw Stephens' Radio 1 show (12am-2am) as DIY Label Of The Week. He'll be spinning tracks from the likes of Tiny Masters Of Today and It Hugs Back and their website will be featuring a blurb about us.

Check www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/huwstephens later tonight for more info/playlists.

It Hugs Back have also recorded a session for Rob Da Bank, which will be broadcast on his Radio 1 show on Sunday (15th April). They're playing a gig next Monday (16th) to celebrate at The Enterprise in Camden.

Clone Quartet: Clone Quartet take us on a Carousel ride
posted 08 Apr 2007

On 14th May 2007 Tigertrap will be unleashing Clone Quartet's single 'Carousel' / 'Played To Death' on both CD and 7".

The Northern Irish four-piece have already made a big impact in their native Belfast and recently recorded sessions for ATL TV and Rory McConnell (BBC Radio 1 Northern Ireland), as well as collaborating on a video project with genius performance artist Tomoko Takahashi.

Both formats of the single will be lovingly packaged in hand-built card sleeves and limited to 500 copies each. You can pre-order them both from the Shop page. Here are the details...

GRRR13/CD13
1. Carousel
2. Played To Death
3. Unlock It*
4. Carousel (Skibunny Remix)*

*CD only bonus tracks.

'Carousel' is the first single from their forthcoming album 10 Lies, which we'll be releasing on 2nd July with our buddies at Smalltown America. More details on that to follow.

The band are also playing with next-big-thing Uffie on 20th April at The Spring & Airbrake and with current-big-things CSS at Queens University on 10th May. See the gigs section for more info.

Tiny Masters Of Today: Tiny Masters London dates in April
posted 31 Mar 2007

Those Brooklyn-based punk rock terrors Tiny Masters Of Today arrive in the UK on 1st April to peddle their wares in the big smoke.

Fresh from a triumphant set of performances at Texas super-festival South By South West, where they were tipped as one of Top 5 must-see tips by Music Week magazine, the young duo and Blues Explosion drummer Russell Simins are crossing the Atlantic for one week only to hit up the people of Britain. Here is their itinerary...

Tuesday, 3 April - Artrocker @ The Buffalo Bar, Highbury
Thursday, 5 April - The Proud Gallery, Camden
Friday, 6 April - The Long Bad Alldayer @ The Windmill, Brixton
Saturday, 7 April - Fopp instore @ Tottenham Court Road - onstage 5pm (FREE ENTRY)

The Guardian also ran a nice big feature on them on Wednesday (see their artist page for a link), but sadly they had to turn down Blue Peter as they're flying back on Sunday.

Wojtek Godzisz: TIGERTRAP PRESENTS... Silver Sun + Wojtek Godzisz + The Duloks @ The Luminaire - 29 March 2007
posted 25 Mar 2007

Tigertrap are ever so pleased to announce the return of the country's premier power poppers SILVER SUN to our stage at the Luminaire.

Fresh from releasing their fourth album, 'Dad's Weird Dream', this will be their first London date in around 6 months. WOJTEK GODZISZ will be supporting, debuting new song 'Lies' which will almostly certainly be number one when we get round to releasing it.

He'll also be dishing out mini-classics from his forthcoming debut EP, which you can already buy the digital version of via iTunes and all the usual suspects. The CD will be out in April if we have to go and personally intimidate every employee in the pressing plant.

First on, though, are our friends THE DULOKS whose self-imposed status as a 'joke band' has been hijacked by major label interest and NME biting at their heels. Look out for cartoon pop masterpieces including 'Mick Jagger' and 'Star Trail'.

ADVANCE TICKETS are available from this link at a very reasonable 7, or from the door at 8 (7 if you print out the flyer below). See you there!
