Gum Takes Tooth: 'TRI' single out today on vinyl & download
posted 28 Feb 2011

London's monster noise duo release their first Tigertrap single today. 'TRI' comes in the form of a clear, triangle-shaped 10" lathe vinyl, planted cosily within hand-built screen-printed reflective sleeves.

The vinyl contains the songs 'Strychnine Motive' and 'Rise From the Peat and Walk', and comes with a CDR with both included plus a bonus track, 'Laser Light Burial Mound'. On top of that, each copy comes with an unique download code that will allow you to download the album free upon its release.

There are only 40 copies in existence, so be quick if you want to get your hands on one. They're up for pre-order now in our online store and you can stream the songs on the Gum Takes Tooth profile page of our website. Their astounding debut album is also done and dusted and will be released on 2nd May ahead of a busy tour schedule. More news to follow.

We've been toiling away preparing this release for months now and are bally well happy to say it's finally getting a release next Monday (28th February). 'TRI' is perhaps the most unique and exciting item we've ever put out. It's a clear, triangle-shaped 10" lathe vinyl (phew!), planted cosily within hand-built screen-printed reflective sleeves.

Applicants: 'Escape From Kraken Castle' out today!
posted 07 Jun 2010

The second album from London-based noise-mongers Applicants hit the shops today! 'Escape From Kraken Castle' is available on CD and also digitally and features 12 spangly new tracks, including forthcoming single 'Evelyn Waugh'.

As we're in a celebratory mood, we're giving away a free taster in the form of the rather smashing 'Robert Mugabe'. Download away guilt-free by clicking on his name there.

The press have had these nice things to say about the album:

""We can't help but think, just maybe, they might just be total bona fide geniuses." - 8/10 - NME

"It's abrasive, it's energetic and there are plenty of choruses to shout along to" - ROCK SOUND

"Applicants dredge influences from colourful surrealist noise rockers Melt-Banana to GameBoy noises and moustachioed African dictators" - 7/10 - LOUD & QUIET

Upcoming live shows:

14th Jun @ Alchemy, WOLVERHAMPTON
29th Jun @ The Old Blue Last, LONDON
8th Aug @ A Boat on the Thames, LONDON
